Worsham El is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW ) and Certified Family Trauma Professional (CFTP). She is an Adjunct Professor and Graduate Field Consultant for the University of Chicago’s School of Social Service. She has over 13 years of experience empowering diverse populations of vulnerable youth and families in multiple settings such as medical, academic, residential, and child welfare. She strongly advocates for the promotion of healthy relationships and the socio-emotional development of youth and communities. Worsham El is passionate about educating professionals and caregivers on the impact of complex and historical trauma. She was nominated as a Top Health Care Provider of 2017 by the International Association of Health Care Professionals.

THE CHALLENGE

Meet Worsham El, CEO &Co-Founder

Worsham El specializes in treatment of complex trauma and implementation of trauma-informed care. Her Bachelor’s is in Psychology from Loyola University and she received her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Chicago. She is trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Neurosequental Model of Therapeutics (NMT), and Affect Regulation Competency (ARC).

My name is Worsham El. While my title is “therapist”, I think of myself as a mental health coach. I focus on the use of your strengths to empower you. Each of my clients experience genuine engagement tailored to fit their individual needs.

I believe my role as your therapist is to support you in the use of your natural strengths to achieve and maintain your goals and well-being. I share my expertise in child development, trauma, and resiliency to help you make sense of and manage your symptoms.

I provide parent coaching, individual, group, and family therapy. I use expressive techniques such as dance, art, poetry, yoga and mindfulness to effectively treat the impact of trauma and toxic stress.
